Past Events: Rose Cup Races June 11-13 @ PIR - Jun 11, 2010
by Gary Moisant
The three days were really great! All the racing was vary exciting, fast cars and great driving. The best I have seen in years. FRIDAY: Mostly tuneup day and testing and the beginning of qualifying for the different classes and position on the grid for the weekend. Saturday: Qualifying continued for a short while. Then the racing began and the competition was fierce in some classes. Each race group is comprised of more than one class of cars that are on the track at the same time. It was one group after another with only a short interval in between. Less than 5 min. This is how it progressed the rest of the weekend SUNDAY: It was all full on racing, and it was great! Thrills and spills galore, the driving and cars were amazing. There were two 350Z entered one ZX turbo and one 240Z in ITS class. The ZX and 240 won there respective classes! On both Sat. and Sunday were were afforded parade laps two laps each day :-} at a far faster pace than on the Historic Race weekend.:-) On Saturday, my passenger used my camera and took some pictures while I was driving on our laps. HaHa 2 of the headliner 3 of the dash, 5 of the floor and door panel and 3 upside down out the window! He did take some that were usable that I included here. This was a super weekend the weather was great though chilly some in the later afternoon. I for sure am looking forward to next year for sure.
